This course will cover the key tenets of vertebrates and invertebrate fisheries biology focusing on biotic and abiotic effects on physiology, ecology and behavior. We will explore (1) parasitic diseases and life cycles (from simple to complex) (2) taxonomic and phylogenetic understanding of parasite and host groups (with a focus on marine metazoan parasites and hosts) and (3) ecological implications of parasitism in marine systems.
